JOST VAN DYKE

Located less than 5 miles northwest of Tortola, Jost Van Dyke is truly a place to get away from it all. It is an oasis for seafarers and adventurers.

This islands has only few guesthouses, bars and restaurants. Don’t look for a bank or an ATM machine and make sure you have cash money on you. The island has had electricity only since 1991 so that will give you an idea how laid back this wonderful place is.

So far the green island remains undisturbed by development.

While on Jost Van Dyke, make sure to meet one of the local legends - Foxy . Foxy opened the famous Foxy Bar in 1968. The biggest music band have played there since. Foxy will tell you tales and rap some songs for you. He will send you to meet his son at the One Love Bar and his daughter at the Foxy Taboo Bar.

Foxy has traveled the world and had the world come to him for endless parties, Halloween, Labor Day weekend, and New Year. Foxy Bar is one of the three picks to ring the Millennium, as The New York Times named it.

Jost Van Dyke is one of the most popular anchorages in the Caribbean, the party island of the BVI.
